Patient movement is the backbone of all ambulance operations.  It is the job task that is performed for almost every job assignment, with great frequency and repetition.  As such, the hazards associated with stretcher operation are often overlooked or taken for granted. Medic safety is key in reducing injuries and increasing productivity.

The principles and best practices taught in this course represent best practice performance expectations while operating and handling a stretcher.

The intent of this training is to prepare all caregivers to use safe mechanics and provide safe transportation of non-ambulatory patients who require the use of a stretcher.
