PERMA & NYSAFC: Fire and EMS Behavioral Workshop – Fulton County

October 19 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Fulton County Workshop – Berkshire Fire Department

In partnership with the NYSAFC, PERMA will be sponsoring their upcoming 2021 Fire and EMS Behavioral Health Workshops: The Price We Pay. The increasing amounts of suicides, alcoholism, drug addiction, and post-traumatic stress all need immediate attention. These regional trainings will examine the behavioral health issues faced by firefighters and emergency medical services personnel.

Led by Past Chief Mike Healy (Central Nyack Fire Department) and Chief Jared Meeker (Lake Shore Fire District) each workshop will provide:

  • An overview of the behavioral health problems that fire/EMS personnel experience
  • Skills necessary to recognize and help others who are struggling with mental health issues
  • How to monitor the health of fellow firefighters and EMS providers to prevent the negative results that could have a long-lasting impact on agencies
  • Increasing the overall retention and reducing burnout in these first responders

Registration is FREE for all PERMA Members. Space is limited due to COVID-19 safety guidelines.
To register, complete this Registration Form and submit to education@nysfirechiefs.com
