Out of this year’s 30 national applicants, PERMA was awarded 2nd place for the Safety First Grant Award Program. Safety National began this program in 2014 as a way to recognize policyholders for their innovative solutions to help reduce the risk of employee injury and illness.

Based on a five year analysis within the Public Works risk group, PERMA has found that strain injuries are the highest in both frequency and severity. This awarded grant will allow wearable sensor technology to be purchased to provide measurements of human movements along with muscle activity. PERMA plans to use this data to re-engineer common job movements that cause injury and create corrective movement protocols.

Congratulations to our Risk Management Services Team! Full details about this proposal can be found here.
