Operations Management Human Resources Workshop

Open to all highway, department of public works and water treatment facility management, this three-part workshop is designed to provide attendees with relevant information, strategies and tools that will assist in the management of their workforce.

Presented by Ronni Travers of Public Sector HR Consultants LLC, the workshop will include:

• Proven hiring strategies – interviewing and hiring, background checks, how to optimize the LENS program, civil service rules
• Drug and alcohol testing in the workplace – how to develop and implement drug and alcohol testing in the workplace, federal requirements for testing
• Effective corrective action – the importance of having sound policies and procedures in a corrective action program, union contractual procedures, counseling vs. discipline
